  • What: Can brain waves be used to control computers?

Dr. Paul Gnanayutham is coming to SAE for a guest talk based around his fascinating research in the field of Brain-Body interfaces, and will be bringing with him equipment to test on a willing participant!

He'll be discussing in particular the application of brain control in the field of game design, but will also talk about applications in software and the web.

Dr. Gnanayutham (Course Leader MSc-ISD, MSc ISD-DL, BSc-ISN, IAD) has worked over fifteen years in the computer industry before taking up lectureship at the University of Portsmouth in 1997.

He is carrying out research in brain body interfaces for patients with traumatic brain injury. This includes the areas of HCI and AI. He also carries out research in networking and distributed systems.
