SAE Graduate invents new internet business model…
5th June 2009
An SAE graduate has launched a new internet venture that he’s hoping will fund his MBA, reports The Independent (4th June ‘09).
Spyros Pyrgiotis, 24, has already earned a first degree from SAE Athens and SAE London, but his dream is to set up a music production business so he decided to follow up his SAE degree with an MBA in business. For that he’d need to raise £17,000 by September – no easy task in the current economic climate.
After much deliberation as to how he might net such a prize, Spyros spotted a gap in the advertising market whereby companies would advertise on a page of solid text.
Advertisers pay by the letter to have their company name or a message placed on the page, which also acts as a link to their own website.
To date his advertising venture has netted him £3,500 in two months, so his dream of being the youngest person to take an MBA from Kingston University’s business school looks like becoming a reality.
So far the venture has been promoted through networking sites like Facebook, but with exposure on The Independent’s website – and here on the SAE website, of course! – it looks certain that Spyros’s new business venture will see his dream coming true.
